Farmers & Merchants Bank Recaps Mid-Year Community Involvement with 'Service Above Self' Pledge

LONG BEACH, Calif.--Standing true to one of its founding values of 'Service Above Self,' California's Strongest Farmers & Merchants Bank (F&M), announced today its mid-year results of the bank's commitment to building stronger Southern California communities, through local non-profit and organizational support.

"By annually recommitting to its founding values of Honesty, Integrity, Faith, Family and Service Above Self we have remained strong, centered and on a steadfast path to growing with our communities we serve."

In making the announcement, F&M revealed that in the first half of 2016, F&M has supported over 200 local community events that have benefited local schools, faith-based organizations, Chamber of Commerce, as well as the arts. These sponsorships, combined with contributions to other non-profit organizations, has F&M on track to donate nearly two million dollars to help strengthen the communities across Los Angeles and Orange Counties.

"'Service Above Self' means putting our clients' and communities' needs ahead of our own and is a deeply rooted philosophy in F&M's history and is something F&M has consistently provided clients, communities, and employees since the bank's inception in 1907," said Daniel Walker, CEO and Chairman of the Board at F&M. "By annually recommitting to its founding values of Honesty, Integrity, Faith, Family and Service Above Self we have remained strong, centered and on a steadfast path to growing with our communities we serve."

"The strength of our bank rests on more than just its assets, profitability and bottom line; our bank is strong because it has earned the trust of our community and customers and it's our belief that trust can only be given to a financial institution with a strong moral compass, commitment to values, and the ability to demonstrate those values to the communities it serves," continued Walker.
